We fund sports participation for underserved youth in Maryland — covering registration fees, equipment, uniforms, tournament travel, and league dues. No child should sit out because of cost.
Who Qualifies
- Youth ages 5–18 residing in Maryland
- Be part of an underserved community
- Active participation in an organized sport or recreational program
- Endorsement from a coach, school, or program director
- First-time applicants and renewal applicants both welcome

Fill out the form below with information about the athlete, their sport, and what funding is needed. Takes about 10 minutes.

Coach Endorsement
We'll contact the coach or program director listed in your application to confirm the athlete's participation and need.

Review & Decision
Our grant committee reviews applications within 5–10 business days. We notify all applicants of their decision by email.

Funds Disbursed
Approved grants are paid directly to the program, club, or vendor — not to individual families. Funds are released within 5 business days of approval.

Is there a deadline to apply?
No — we accept applications year-round on a rolling basis. Grant cycles run Spring (January–May) and Fall (August–November). If your need is urgent, note it in your application and we will do our best to expedite review.
How long does the review process take?
Most applications are reviewed within 5–10 business days of submission. You'll receive an email notification of the decision. If we need additional information, we'll reach out directly.
How are funds paid out?
Approved grants are paid directly to the program, club, league, or equipment vendor — not to individual families. This ensures funds go directly to their intended purpose and simplifies the process for everyone.
Can a family apply for more than one athlete?
Yes. Each athlete requires a separate application. Families with multiple children in sports may submit applications for each child independently.
What sports are eligible?
All organized amateur sports are eligible — team sports, individual sports, recreational leagues, club programs, and competitive travel teams. If it's organized, has a coach or director, and costs money to participate, it likely qualifies.
What if my application is not approved?
We notify all applicants of their decision. If not approved, we will explain why and, where possible, suggest alternative resources. You may reapply in the next grant cycle.
Do I need to repay the grant?
No. Access 2 Play grants are gifts, not loans. There is no repayment required.
Is my personal information kept private?
